A hot time is coming in the HMB community! The date and venue of the HMB World Championship Battle of the Nations 2021 has been announced and it’s high time for athletes around the world to prepare for the most important tournament selection for their county’s team. Every fighter dreams of a place in the national team and the opportunity to represent his or her country at the World Championship. However, the COVID-19 virus, raging all over the planet, has set its limits on all spheres of human life including the process of fighter selection. HMBIA News asked Jeffrey Galli, the captain of the HMB USA team, to share exactly how the formation process for Battle of the Nations 2021 will take place.
According to him, because of the COVID-19 lockdown, they are having 1 National tournament HMBUSABOTN 2021 Nationals. If a fighter wins a position there, he or she will go to BotN.
“Nationals will be held in South Carolina , 5-6 February. Here will be the same categories as Battle of the Nations, except 30v30. If a U.S. fighter registers with HMB USA, they get to try out for the team. No favoritism.
Except for the full plate category – “Unless they make it a medal category and then there will be tryouts”,- Mr. Galli told. If you fight with honor and show good sportsmanship, you can be part of the national team.
In addition, the HMB USA plans to put up their team for 30 vs 30 buhurts. The virus did not affect the formation of this team!
“The 30 v 30 team shall be selected by myself and the other US team captains, as will the 150 v 150 team. The fighters will be selected from different teams that compete at National qualifiers. This is how I am doing it. It is up to each US captain to figure it out each year. But this is how we have done it from the beginning”,- noted USA captain Jeffrey Galli.
HMBIA News will publish the results of the HMBUSABOTN 2021 Nationals and impressions of its participants.
So, the last thing that we have to say is that we can’t wait to meet the HMB USA team in the lists of the Oradea fortress in Romania!
