The opening ceremony of the World Championship in HMB “Battle of the Nations”-2018 began colorfully and authentically. After a bright show, the National Teams, dressed in armor and coats of arms, with the flags of their countries in hands, went out in the lists. HMBIA President Edouard Eme and the head of the international cultural project “Russian Seasons” Tatyana Merkulova came to congratulate the athletes with the beginning of the most anticipated tournament of the year.

In his speech to the audience and participants, Edouard Eme focused on the fact that HMB is not only a sport, but also a legacy of the Middle Ages, which must be preserved.

Besides, at the end of the official opening ceremony of the Championship captains of the National Teams, put their right hands on the hearts, and lifting their left ones up, swore an oath. The text of the oath was read by the President of HMBIA:

“Please take the oath of “Battle of the Nations”:
“We swear to participate in “Battle of the Nations”, respecting all the competitors, all the marshals, and the rules in the spirit of sports and fair play. We all commit ourselves to this honorable sport without doping or cheating. We do this for the glory of our sporting nations, the honour of all teams, and in respect of the principles of “Battle of the Nations”.
