My first BotN: Ádám Ujvári (Hungary)

Hungary started its BotN journey in Prague, 2015, and it was the first big HMB tournament for the national team of this country. Ádám Ujvári, the captain of the Hungarian National team, was one of these fighters who represented Hungary that year.

“It was very good for us. The city is beautiful, and this was our first big tournament….so it was super exciting. I was very proud of ourselves, as a fighter, and as a captain too. It was interesting to meet a lot of fighters from all over the world. We saw professional teams and fighters, and how big this sport really is!”

Ádám also recalls the meeting with fighters from Poland who helped the Hungarians to choose the right armour and they had a lot of conversations about the history of the Middle Ages, so it was a very good and useful experience in the theoretical part of the sport.

An unforgettable moment was when the Hungarians met the team from Argentina, with the same image of a wolf on the team surcoats as Ádám’s team used! It was an occasion for acquaintance, and then even friendship. In general, Adam noted that outside the lists all the teams were as amicable as possible and that year they made a lot of friends! HMB brings people together.
