Lightbody (Australia): “… our fighters have definitely stepped up”

HMBIA News could not write about National team of Australia in this series of articles. So we had a conversation with Bryce Lightbody, Australian captain and found out a lot about his team and selection tournaments in this country. Now you will know it too.

Bryce Lightbody: “Selecting the National Team of Australia is quite a challenge because of the huge distances between all of our teams. To give every fighter a chance to compete for the top spots we hold a series of three tournaments hosted by the largest local teams. We use this series to decide which teams will form Australia 1,2 and 3. This year the qualifying tournaments were held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne”.

After the long selections they finally got the list of fighters for National team. The results are – “Austalia 1″ – Team “Havoc” (NSW), “Australia 2″ – “Vultures” (QLD) and “Australia 3″ – Team “Kraken” (VIC).

Audience and fighters will meet Australian team in such categories as “5vs5″, female “3vs3″ team and a “pole arm” duelists (male).

Bryce Lightbody: “We have been holding a lot of very tough tournaments since last HMB World Championship “Battle of the Nations”-2016 so our fighters have definitely stepped up a notch”.

We think that the fights with Australian sportsmen will be interesting and hard, so HMBIA and our editorial office wishes the National team of Australia many interesting fights and a lot of new tournaments. Cannot wait to see them on the list of “Battle of the Nations” -2017.
