HMBIA got seven new Marshals after the “Battle of the Nations”-2018
The HMB Marshals do a very important job during the tournaments. Due to these people, we can see real sport fights in the lists. There was an opportunity for trainees to pass a practice exam during the World Championship in HMB “Battle of the Nations”-2018 to become certified Marshals. According to the HMBIA Marshal supervisor Sergey Myasishchev, there were 11 trainees who tried to take this test, but only seven of them have passed it. There is Daniel Noonan from Australia among them.
Daniel Noonan also glad to become a certified HMBIA Marshal:
“It was hard for me due to a few factors, like the level of marshalling and fighting is very different in Australia compared to Europe as we only have two HMBIA Marshals to learn from. I did not know what I was in for, but lucky I had Stephen to help me learn the rules. I had to study the rules every night leading up to the day I made my 24 hours flight over to Rome. However, the hard work and long days, consent question asking – all paid off in the end and I was told that I had passed and became certified. I was over the moon about it”.
Bryce Lightbody, a captain of the National Team of Australia and Australian Medieval Combat (AMC) congratulated the new Marshal on the official Facebook page:
“I’d like to introduce and congratulate Australia’s next HMBIA certified Marshal, Daniel Noonan. He did a fantastic job marshalling at Battle of the Nations. Becoming certified is a hell of a job and a massive responsibility, Daniel has done Australia and the AMC proud.”
Bryce also told that such victory will be certainly going to help the sport in Australia. Having skilled and qualified Marshals is essential for hosting tournaments.
Our congratulations to all new Marshals, we wish them many interesting fights and polite fighters.
