On 8-9 July 2017 the Peter and Paul Fortress in St. Petersburg is going to be filled with passion and adrenaline, because the unique and well-known all around the world military-historical festival “Battle on the Neva River”-2017 is to take place there. Modern St. Petersburg is going to shudder from the sound of steel and horses’ hooves – the festival’s program is going to that dense. Artem Vasiliev – the representative of “HMB Russia” briefly, but quite consistently told HMBIA News about the oncoming event.
Artem Vasiliev: “The festival is going to take place for the fourth consecutive year. Every year we add something new. Everything started from the 12×12 battles and horse tournament. Now we have first league HMB Russia 5×5 tournament, massive battles, WMFC Donjon’s Cup professional battles and one of the most significant jousting tournaments in Russia. We pay a lot of attention not only to the battles, but also to the festival’s atmosphere. We have a whole team of professionals handling that”.
The festival’s organizers try to expand the “Battle on the Neva River’s” geography as much as possible, offering not only interesting battles.
Artem Vasiliev: “We expect to see more foreign teams this year. We are also ready to help foreign teams with accommodations and visas. Perhaps, we will provide a partial compensation of the trip. Also, the festival’s participants get the opportunity to visit St. Petersburg downtown in the white nights rush!”
The festival’s organizers also take importantly the prizes and try to be very creative with preparations. According to Artem Vasiliev, every year they order original prizes from the famous Petersburg blacksmith.
