5vs5: results and impressions

02 May 2019 21:14

The first competitive day of the HMB World Championship Battle of the Nations 2019 is coming to an end. We look back on spectacular fights by veteran teams who have shown fights of a consistently high level and fights by novice teams who yet have to make their mark in the world of HMB.

HMBIA News asked Gregory Blonsky, the fighter of the Russia 1 team, one of the strongest and most experienced teams of the Championship. Blonsky confirms the level of the teams has increased significantly.
“In the past there were teams that were much easier to beat, and our fights ended so quickly. Now many people show very good results. It’s impossible to single out one team that impressed me in battle. It was hard to fight with every single one of our opponents today.”

Such a high level, of course, is proof of the continuous development of HMB as a sport, and this is great news for all fans of this hard, but beautiful sport.

And that concludes a day filled to the brim with top quality buhurts and exciting pro-fights by the women. The official results for the 5vs5 category are in:
1. Russia 1
2. Russia 3
3. United Kingdom 1

More detailed results will follow later. We thank you for joining us today on the first day of the 10th annual Battle of the Nations and hope to greet you again tomorrow. We will be back with the women’s 5 vs 5, the men’s 12 vs 12 and duels in all flavours.
