Australia returns to HMB sport! Recently, mass gatherings of people have been allowed in the country, which means that HMB athletes can return to training. It is especially joyful for them, because few days ago the dates of the HMB World Championship Battle of the Nations 2022 were announced.

Bryce Lightbody, captain of the Australian national team, is committed to serious work in several directions at once:

“Getting back into training is hard. I’ve got two major goals in team training at the moment. First of all I set the goal to get our fighters armour fitness back up to scratch. We’ve doubled the amount of training sessions in armour and extended the weekday training times.

All my fighters are so excited to be back. They’re really diving into training to get ready for tournaments. We’ve got lots of catching up to do, especially in the lead up to Battle of the Nations”.

It should be noted that during the total lockdown in the country, representatives of the HMB movement did not sit still here. They were active in social networks, and it bore fruit. As Bryce told us, it paid off, and they attracted new people to the sport.

“Initially they found out about the HMB sport through social media like Facebook and Instagram. Once they discovered HMB existed, they went down the rabbit hole of Youtube videos. The benefit of people sitting at home being bored during lockdown, plenty of time exploring online”, said Bryce.

Based on this, the captain set himself a second goal:

 “We have to build up the new recruits. We’ve gained a massive influx of new fighters. I’m building up their basics so we can start getting them into armour as soon as we can”.
