Our She Fights for… series continues to introduce you to the amazing girls who make our HMB world a better place every day. Today we are talking about Polina Nikitina from Russia, Senior Secretary of the HMB World Championship Battle of the Nations 2019.
“I love exactness, I love tables and schemes. And I really love to keep track of the timing at the HMB event and count the points”, admits Polina.
How could it be otherwise? Outside of tournaments, Polina works as a mathematics teacher in high school. Here, as in the work of a secretary, you need strict control, accounting and concentration. And she does all this masterfully! However, Polina got the post of senior secretary over time and the journey was exciting.
“The first meeting with HMB sport took place on March 8, 2015. A small tournament was held in the city of Korolyov. I came to see something new and take pictures. Suddenly I helped a little with the organization. Then organizers of that tournament invited me as a volunteer. A year later, in 2016, I went to Battle of the Nations in Prague, but here I was just a spectator.
I managed to become part of the team in Spain in 2017, when Barcelona hosted BotN. Then Dmitry Trostin, the captain of the HMB Russia team, asked me for help with organizing the team on site. Since that time I have already attended the Championship as a secretary“.
In life, Polina Nikitina is a cheerful and charismatic girl, but she is serious in her work! She understands and accepts the level of responsibility entrusted to the World Championship secretaries.
“In my opinion, in the work of a secretary, as in any other, it is important to know the rules of the game, to be able to make decisions quickly, and most importantly, not to be afraid!”
Being an active and thorough person, in everyday life our heroine manages to combine a lot at once- work, family, volunteer assistance to homeless animal shelters… And this is not all that Polina does. Her day is scheduled by the minute, and her phone is glowing red. However, there is a separate place for HMB in her heart:
“For me, this is an opportunity to escape from everyday life, forget about problems and plunge into the world of fire and steel! Besides, for so many years in HMB, many people from this movement have become my good friends”.
After a working day at the tournament, Polina and her friends from all over the world have the opportunity to talk and spend time together. It is such a joy to combine business and pleasure!
We thank Polina Nikitina for the interview, for her work, and hope to meet her soon at the different HMB tournaments and at the most important of them all – the HMB World Championship Battle of the Nations.
We remind you that Polina Nikitina today was a guest of the She Fights for… rubric. We will be back with new stories and new heroines!
