“Innovations in the duel nominations”
As it has already been announced in 2016, a new format of duel categories is to be introduced. Now, Triathlon grows into a format of elite duel nomination. To take part in it, the fighters are going to have to achieve victory in one of the duel categories – longsword, shield-sword or buckler sword. The winners in the mentioned categories gain the opportunity to measure swords and find out who is the strongest “duelist’ of the year, in the format of Triathlon.
That way, the team can still submit three fighters for a Duel, but one fighter can only take part in one of the three separate duel categories.
According to representative of the organizational committee of the Championship of the world in HMB “Battle of the Nations” – 2017, due to such innovation, there appears a variety of fighters in the categories, variety of styles and the intrigue. HMBIA believes that thanks to the innovation, it will be impossible for the representatives of one country to take all three top places in the separate duel category. The intrigue will hold up until the very end.
Undoubtedly, there are going to be “top” fighters. Potentially they can take up top places in each of the categories, but there are still the second, the third and, chances are, the fourth place, which will lead to “Triathlon”.
