The tournament aims to select athletes to compose the Brazilian National Team for participation in the World Championship “Battle of the Nations”, which will take place on May 3-6, 2018 in Italy.
Organizers do their best to prepare comfortable staying for participants and conditions for a spectacular show. Despite Brazil is a new country in the HMB movement, it is in serious mood to develop this sport and display a high level of holding such events. So, the weapons check will be done in one day in advance, on the 9th of March.
The event will be attended by artists with the purpose of promoting the sport and culture of the Middle Ages.
A venue has already discussed and got approval – the tournament will be held in Canabrava Ranch (Sobradinho) in Brasilia – the capital of Brazil.
Filipe Canabrava, the captain of the National Team, told they expected 10 clubs with a total of 30 participants, and Argentinian fighters might come as well.
Combats will be held in follows categories: “Longsword” (male), “Sword and shield” (male/female) and buhurt “5 vs 5”.
Filipe highly values the fact the tournament included in Buhurt League system: “It is really important to be a part of the Buhurt League, because we have more official status in our country. I think Buhurt League will be a start for turning HMB into a more serious sport. We have good regulations. And now we have a thing we can focus on”.
Also he emphasized fighters from Brazil always asked about the League and how they could be a part of it.
