“Why do they form no line?..”

– Frequently Asked Questions

Observing battles of the “21 vs 21″ category, some spectators wonder why fighters form no battle line, but move around the lists chaotically… Probably, they are unable to do that, or do not want, or, probably, the line is a prohibited formation? We want to inform you that HMBIA rules do not prohibit the battle line.

And it is only at first glance that you may think fighters run chaotically. For example, if you analize the actions of the Russian Team, multiple world champions, you will clearly see they form the line, but their battle line is the open order. It allows Russians to break their opponent’s front. The first rank allows attacking opponents to go deep, thus putting them under the blows of men with halberds standing behind. In addition, if you take a closer look at the tactics, it becomes clear that Russians fight in the ranks, having flanks, center, even reserve ready to respond quickly to any possible threat. Therefore, we cannot say that HMB fighters do not fight in the line formation, the point is that their line has nothing in common with the one shown in the “Vikings” TV-series.
