HMBIA News continues to write about National teams that are going to participate in the HMB World Championship “Battle of the Nations”-2107. Now let`s speak about Netherlands. We had a conversation with Remco Jansen – captain of the national team of Netherlands. He told us a lot about his team and his expectation of the Championship.

As we know, Netherlands will participate in few categories: Duels “Sword and Buckler” and “Sword and Shield”. Bugurts: “5vs5″ “21vs21″ together with team Germany.

Remco Jansen: “Our national team is sending this year 10 fighters. Unfortunately we will be sending 1 team for the 5v5, we aimed for 2 teams this year but that will be for next year. It’s hard to say what level our team is on now. Every year each country and each team from around the world are getting stronger and so are we. Between last year championship and now a lot has changed for the sport in our country – we are steadily growing and more clubs are being founded witch is good for morale and growth. “Battle of the Nations”-2017 will show to us and to the world how we compete and if our work paid off. But the important thing is to have good focus, and lots of fun and love for what we do. Because for most of us it’s not just a sport – it’s a life style. And for me, as the new captain for this year, is important to keep that focus and make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible”.

Netherlands’ captain also told us that they see “Battle of the Nations”-2017 not only like sport event or serious competition, these guys want to meet friends – men and women that perceive HMB-sport as a part of their lives, just as it is in national team of Netherlands.

Remco Jansen: “We are all very excited to meet all our friends from around the world again and make new friends too, and also the new countries that will participate. We do not prefer who we fight this year, we let the fate decide as we all do. As long as there will be good Honorable fights and tales to tell after the fights, then I say mission accomplished”! So let`s wish them really good fights and a lot of friends. HMBIA News thanks Remco Jansen for the interview and cannot wait to see his team on HMB World Championship “Battle of the Nations”-2107.
