Mark Jackson: growing the future of HMB sport!

24 Apr 2018 17:41
This story is about a father and his son. They are fighters, best friends and sometimes even opponents. They enjoy spending time together. Mark Jackson and his fifteen years old son Aaron live in Madera city in California (USA). They’ve been training together since his son was two years old. In about 2006 they used wooden swords and were unarmored. Aaron prefers a longsword and trained with the local Historic European Martial Arts club “Tuath Ui Niall” from 2006 till 2011 without using armor.

Mark Jackson:
“I started fighting in armor in 2006. After few years Aaron took a short hiatus from training from 2011 to 2013 when we discovered Historical Medieval Battle. I became involved in HMB in September 2014, I fought in Prague at the “Battle of The Nations”-2015, and after I returned my son Aaron became interested again”.

Aaron has been training in HMB Soft equipment for about six months in the local fight club “Order of The Gauntlet and Rose”.

According to Mark, HMB Soft is still taking roots in the USA, and Aaron has to balance his time between studying, HMB Soft trainings and Robotics Club. But both of them are excited to prepare Aaron for the “Battle of the Nations” in three years and he hopes to have an opportunity to fight in the same team as the father and son.

Time passes rapidly, and soon we will see these athletes fighting together as a team, and medals of World Championship in HMB “Battle of the Nations” will shine on their armored chests!
