Prague, Czech Republic

The World Championship in HMB “Battle of the Nations”-2015 will be held under patronage of Prague City and with support of Strahov Monastery (Prague, Czech Republic).

– LOCATION:
Prague is a wonderful and beautiful city located in the heart of Europe, it’s convenient for all the participants and spectators to get there. It has a large international airport, good road interchanges, well-developed infrastructure. Medical support, public order, everyday issues are traditionally at the highest level. In addition, the capital of the Czech Republic has a number of advantages and features, among them are rich medieval history and architecture.

Location for “Battle of the Nations”-2015 has been chosen in the central part of the city, in the “Prague 1″ district, namely at Petrin hill (Czech – Pet?ín).

The location has been chosen not by chance, as the World Championship in historical medieval battle, “Battle of the Nations”, is not only a sporting event but also the International Medieval Festival, where cultural and historical components are very important.

Petrin hill is unique as it is a park in the city centre that has historical buildings and people can simply walk to such attractions as the Strahov Monastery, Prague Castle, and they will have the most beautiful panoramic view on historic center of Prague. Proximity to the “heart” of the city means a wide range of hotels, which is also convenient for spectators and participants.

Taking into account the requirements for the World Championship in HMB “Battle of the Nations”, Petrin hill is the only park zone of suitable size, which is within walking distance to the main historical attractions of the city. In addition, Petrin hill can be easily reached by all the guests and participants of the festival. By the way, participants of the Championship will have transfers from the airport to the venue.

An area within a ten-minute walk from the event will be used as a parking lot, but taking into account the specificity and uniqueness of the location, there will be special rules for the entry of participants (they will be specified before the festival).

– FESTIVAL ZONES:
The territory of the festival will be divided into two main parts.
1. Zone of the main action of the Championship with the main lists and stands.
2. Zone for authentic camps: in addition to tents of the National Teams, it will have the lists for “1 vs 1″ fighting and training lists. A medieval fair (where you’ll be able not only to buy medieval goods, but also try the medieval cuisine, attend various master classes on arts and crafts) will be there, as well.

The authentic camp will be located on lands belonging to the Strahov Monastery (Czech – Strahovský klášter), near a medieval fortress wall called the Hunger Wall (Czech – Hladová ze?), which was built by Charles IV in the XIVth century. Those places offer scenic views of the historic districts of Prague, namely the Prague Castle, Malá Strana…

The main lists and stands will be located in the Petrin park, within a three-minute walk from the entrance to the authentic camp zone.

– STANDS:
According  to the organizers, the main action zone will get a real medieval stadium. For the first time in the history of the World Championship in HMB “Battle of the Nations” stands will be a single unit, i.e. they will be located on all four sides.

The organizers promise spectators to create an effect of full immersion, build a kind of “Arena”. The first row of the stands will be built at a height of two meters, which is convenient and safe.

Convenience of innovations will affect the participants of the Championship as well: there will be premises under the stands where teams can train and fighters can relax. Also, fighters will be able to watch fights from there, and enter the lists quickly, when it’s their turn.
